Lost over  12 inches, 18.5 pounds and over 7% body fat!

Where do I start? I came to Daniel motivated, but lost. I knew what I wanted but didn't know how to get there. I committed from the beginning to follow what he said. I ate what he told me and did the workouts exactly how he said to do them. No one is perfect and Daniel knew that, but he didn't give me an inch. He stuck to the philosophy of "give an inch, take a mile; give nothing, take an inch." He knew I would make mistakes but he was right there to help me get back on the wagon.

With all of Daniel's encouragement, he sure knows how to make you work for your goals. Only motivated by Daniel's words of wisdom, "Don't sell yourself short, you can do this!" The best part about it was that every workout would push me to the point where I was exhausted but not discouraged. If I couldn't finish a set he told me to take a second, regroup, and push it out.

There is no way I could have accomplished my goals without Daniel's knowledge, encouragement and perspective. And the craziest thing is that he is in Colorado and I'm in California! I couldn't imagine what he could do if I met with him regularly!

Bottom line is that if you are ready for the change and ready to commit, then Daniel will get you there.

Lost over  18 inches,  31 pounds and over 17% body fat!

I've always been an athlete. I grew up playing every sport and loving the active lifestyle. However, after graduating from college in 2004 I've struggled with my weight for the past five years. Like everyone, I've gone through my share of trials in life, often using food as the answer. The one thing that bothered me the most was my weight. The average person most likely wouldn't consider me overweight just because I seemed to carry my weight rather proportionally on my small frame, but I knew that I needed a change.

After working with Daniel I've finally "emerged" into the person that I want to be for the rest of my lifetime. While I've always had high self-esteem, I've truly undergone an unbelievable transformation into what I've always envisioned for myself. I've competed in a figure show and loved every moment on stage and can't wait to start training for the next one!

Daniel is constantly challenging me to reach my goals and always gives 100% effort. His motivation and encouragement are never ending and his weight training programs are amazing...there's never a dull moment! Daniel gave me the tools I needed to become what I see today. I put in the hard work from my side and stayed accountable through the process but he was always there pushing me to the end. For this I'm forever thankful. I know that I'll NEVER go back to where I started from and will enjoy this active lifestyle from here on out!

InWard Motion Rocks!
My relationship with Daniel is definitely a Love/Hate relationship. I have always been pretty athletic and Healthy….Daniel has taken me to an ENTIRE new level. The nutrition program keeps me losing the pounds and yet eating all day. I have always been a "dieter" and now I eat regular healthy food all day long. The work out program is a blast...definitely hard and for sure challenging. There is never a dull moment between the cardio, weight & strength training. With the Customized Program which he created for me, I have and continue to change my body composition and shape. I LOVE IT!

Lost 9 inches, 13 pounds and 9% body fat!

When I began training with Daniel I was at my heaviest and feeling very uncomfortable with my body. My first conversation with Daniel I told him I had two requirements – NO mirrors and NO people! He met my demands and set me up with a 12 week nutrition plan. Not only did I start to see results quickly but I found a coach who believed in me when I struggled with it. He keeps me motivated, changes my routines, keeps my workouts fun and always pushes me to a new level of strength and endurance. Daniel helped me change my whole life!

“Indecision is Debilitating”
The Transformation of Tom Botelho
Written by Daniel Ward

When a person wants to make a change in their life, a lot goes into it. You have the preparation, a plan of action, how to overcome bstacles, rewards, and motivation. Now this becomes even more complicated when you don’t know how or where to start. Given this scenario, frustration and hesitancy usually sets in and as H. A. Hopf said, “Indecision is debilitating.” So what do you do? Well, given the time of year, I’ll focus on something that nearly everyone has considered; a New Year’s resolution to changing your physique and improving your health. My client, Tom Botelho of the Denver Newspaper Agency, went from an overweight middle-aged man to a fit and muscular person, and he began to receive compliments and encouragement from people all around him.

The first thing Tom needed was some motivation to change and lucky for him he had three reasons.

Health - My doctor was not happy with my blood pressure that continued to rise year after year and a cholesterol count well over 200. He would keep telling me, "your not in your 30's anymore, you can't keep living the lifestyle you once did and think your body can keep up with you." Add that to a demanding job, three kids, restless sleeping patterns, and sometimes you feel a bit out of control with your health.
Turning 50 and general appearance - Turning 50 was also a milestone - a second chance, a motivation to take control of my body and "once and for all" make an honest effort to get in the best shape of my life. A couple of times I tipped the scale at 228-229 and at a height of 5'9", that kind of weight doesn't look good on anyone. You stop looking in the mirror, your clothes don't fit and you’re not that excited to buy new ones in a larger size. You stop looking at photos of yourself - yes there was a bit of vanity there, but that's in all of us.
A Mentor - my boss at work had recently transformed his body with diet, exercise, and a personal training regimen. Not only had I seen his results first-hand (which were fantastic) but he also encouraged me to get a personal trainer to get me started. This last motivation tipped the scale to get me going.

It was for health, it was for my family, it was for me.”

“The hardest thing was to emotionally re-direct fundamental eating and exercise habits. Intellectually, we all know what to do. But finding the personal motivation to not only start, but keep to a program - consistently - took extreme focus to continue week after week. It's almost like you have to hibernate socially to avoid the temptations of past habits, and that was what I needed to change. Everything I had done in the past were will-power diets - and I have lost 30 pounds 3 or 4 times in my life in the last 20 years. But sooner or later the will power fades away and all that fat and muscle you lost comes back as more fat.  So I guess the hardest thing was I needed to find a new approach that I could believe in. Without the personal training, coaching, and motivation - which taught me new approaches to diet and exercise - I don't believe I would have achieved the results that I have experienced to this point.”

Through this, Tom took control of his outcome-to-be and created a transformation that has boggled the eyes of everyone who surrounds him. Tom says, “At the beginning it was setting goals for myself. Starting the program at 220 my weight goal was 185 and my weekly weight loss goal was 1-2 pounds a week. My body fat started at 23.5% and I didn't really have a goal there because after 50 years I had never had it tested before. I kept weekly food and exercise logs to track my progress. If I went off the wagon a couple of days, I didn't beat myself up; I just went back on the program. Part of it is being a bit self-centered to continue moving forward. Weighing in every 4-6 weeks, starting the program in September and by January of the next year, I had achieved my goal and my body fat was in the 14% range.”

“Eating more times a day and eating cleaner were instrumental in the transformation. Changing my eating habits - in retrospect was much easier than I thought it was going to be. The one thing I couldn't give up was the beer and wine...can't take away all the vices, I just figured you had to do a bit more cardio to make up for your sins.”

Now of course not everyday was a breeze, he had some very difficult and emotional times. “Losing my focus and thinking I was fooling myself… ‘Who are you kidding - are you really going to stick with this?’ is always in the back of your mind. There were days when I didn't want to run those three miles, if it wasn't a run, it was a walk - but I kept going. There are also friends and colleagues who sometimes don't support you, thinking that this is just another fad that I was going through or you get obsessed sometimes and talk too much about what you're eating, your exercise routine and people get tired of it. ”

In the beginning of November, 2005, Tom reached an all time, refined best of 182 pounds at 12%! He runs three miles in 22 minutes, has more strength than most men half his age and a lifestyle that echoes all that he has worked hard for and is proud of. For the first time in his life, nothing held him back. Tom Botelho, “The Golden Boy,” is more determined than anyone I’ve trained and he continues to be an inspiration to me. I hope I look as good as he does when I’m 50! I leave you with his words, “For me it was a personal journey - I was ready for it. Not only was it a physical transformation, but an emotional one as well. You have to be ready to make a change. You need to surround yourself with qualified people who can help you get there. You need to invest real time and money to get results. And you need to enjoy yourself when you start to realize the results you’re looking for.”

Lost over 7 inches, 13 pounds and 6% body fat!

InWard Motion changed my life in 2004. I have always been self conscious of my body, mainly my BBL (Belly, Butt & Legs). When Daniel asked me what I wanted to achieve by training, I told him I wanted to work my BBL so that some day I would feel confident wearing shorts. Now in 2007, my confidence has spilled into other parts of my life. Working out with the right fuel (food intake) has changed my mood, energy and confidence. Working out with the right fuel has allowed me to work full-time, finish my undergrad and now enter law school. I will never forget a man who trained in the same studio as I, stopped me in a grocery store parking lot and asked if I was the woman Daniel had jumping and running across the studio! Needless to say, the variety of routines kept me so busy I did not realize what I was doing or how far I have come since my first training session.

Lost 7 inches, 13 pounds and 6% body fat!

Daniel and I not only made huge strides in my physical fitness and weight goals, we had a great time doing it! Daniel is incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the body and nutrition. If you listen to him and follow his directions, with regard to working out and meal planning, you can't help but hit your goals. My goal was to lose 10 pounds in 12 weeks (losing fat and gaining muscle). I hit my goal two weeks early and in time for my 50th birthday!
He's supportive and is always prepared for a creative workout designed just for me.
He really cares and takes his profession seriously. He is just an all around great guy and I love him!
- Jan Nelson

Starting at 147 pounds, Shawn increased his weight to 190 pounds with a body fat of 12%!
Now he settles in around 170 at 10%!

Growing up I was always the skinny kid. I had very low self esteem from being picked on and harassed all the way though junior high. In high school I learned to fight and although I didn’t get picked on for being skinny, I would still look in the mirror and be ashamed of what I saw. My friends would make fun of me all the time and I would laugh along, but I always wanted to be the guy with muscles. I never felt 100 percent secure with myself and it was directly related to the way I felt about how I looked. I never weighed more than 140 lbs until I began to work out with Daniel.

I met Daniel nearly three years ago at a boxing match at my house. We began talking and he told me that he was a personal trainer. I expressed my interest in getting on a program and we kept in touch. After a few months went by, I finally hired Daniel to train me two days a week. I would go to the studio and Daniel would go through exercises to teach me correct form and explain what each one did. He taught me how to diet and inspired me to learn everything I could about working out and dieting. After three years of working out I am finally confident in who I am. I have learned more from Daniel than I ever could on my own and have stuck with working out religiously. I can now fluctuate my weight from 170 all the way up to 190 with the tools that Daniel has taught me.

I used to be the guy who other guys would stare at in a threatening way, now they look at me in admiration. When I work out at the gym I have a lot of people ask me how to do certain things and what I do to work certain muscle groups. Not only do I lift four days a week but I also train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu four days a week. Before I began working out I would never have had the confidence to walk into a gym and train to be a fighter. I am currently doing jiu-jitsu with the intention of possibly training to do an amateur fight.

Working with Daniel has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever down in my life. I walk around proud of the way I look and have a confidence that I have never had in my life. I believe that feeling good about yourself is the strongest thing you can do. I am so confident and comfortable in the way I look that I can’t help but carry it over into my professional life as well. I know that if I can change my body, challenge myself physically, and succeed, then I can do the same in every other aspect of my life. I now feel that nothing can stand in my way.
- Shawn Crampton

Lost over 8 inches, 17 pounds and 5% body fat!

I've been overweight most of my life and finally got to the point where I wanted to do something about it. Losing my job and having my husband deployed to Baghdad, all within the same time, I found myself eating more and gaining weight. My brother-in-law had been working with Daniel for about nine months and his transformation was so remarkable that I decided to start working out with Daniel too. My first meeting with Daniel was a sit down meeting to tell him what my goals and expectations were. Daniel talked about nutrition and exercise, what I could expect from him and what he expected of me. Hiring a trainer is the easy part, actually working with a trainer is hard work! I clicked with Daniel from the first moment we started working together, which is not to say I always liked him. I despised him during many a workout. In fact, telling him how much I despised him is sometimes the only way I could get through the hour. Some exercises you just won't like but it doesn't matter, they work. In fact, if you whine about it, he'll make you do more, ha! Being a natural born whiner meant I was doing a lot of exercises I didn't like.

I can't thank Daniel enough for being tough on me. He helped me realize how much I really can do. He pointed out muscle definition that hadn't been there before and his support kept me going. I wouldn't and couldn't have done it without Daniel as my trainer. Daniel is so knowledgeable, professional, thoughtful and (his girlfriend would agree) easy to look at!
